Waivers

Liability Waiver

By attending or participating in any class, event, workshop, open studio time, party, or camp at Bee’s Knees Art Studio, LLC (“Studio”), you acknowledge:

Inherent Risks

Studio activities may include wheel throwing, hand-building, carving tools, sharp objects, kiln firing, hot materials, glazes/underglazes/paints, and other art supplies. Risks may include burns, cuts, allergic reactions, slips, falls, and property damage.

Assumption of Risk

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

Release of Liability

You agree to release and hold harmless Bee’s Knees Art Studio, LLC, its owner, employees, instructors, contractors, and affiliates from liability for injury, illness, or property damage arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, you authorize the Studio to seek medical care and agree you are financially responsible for any related costs.

Electronic Signature

If you register online, checking the waiver box and completing registration acts as your electronic signature and agreement.

Youth Participation & Camp Waiver (Required for Minors)

If the participant is under 18, a parent/legal guardian must agree on their behalf.

By registering a minor for a class or camp, you confirm you are the parent/legal guardian and you:

  • Give permission for the child to participate
  • Assume the risks on behalf of the child
  • Agree to disclose allergies/medical needs
  • Authorize emergency medical treatment if necessary
  • Agree the Studio is not responsible for kiln-related damage to artwork
  • Understand disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in dismissal without refund

Safety & Studio Rules

To keep everyone safe and successful, participants agree to:

  • Follow instructor directions and posted safety rules
  • Use tools and materials appropriately
  • Wear closed-toe shoes when recommended (especially for clay/kiln areas)
  • Keep long hair tied back near wheels/tools
  • Walk, don’t run (yes, even if you’re excited)
  • Supervise children when required by the event/class format

The Studio may refuse service or remove anyone for unsafe behavior.

Kiln & Artwork Policy

Ceramics are magical… and also slightly chaotic. By participating in clay activities, you acknowledge:

  • Clay and glazed work may crack, warp, pinhole, blister, or break during drying and firing
  • Some pieces may fail due to thickness, trapped air, glaze chemistry, or kiln variables
  • The Studio is not responsible for damage that occurs during the firing process

Unclaimed artwork may be discarded after 60 days unless otherwise stated for a specific program.

Cancellations, Reschedules & No-Shows

Because we prep materials and save your seat:

  • Cancellations: Please contact us as soon as possible if you can’t make it.
  • Reschedules: When available, we may offer credit or a seat in a future session.
  • No-shows: May forfeit the fee due to preparation time and limited spots.
  • Late arrivals: May miss instruction time; some projects can’t be restarted once class is underway.

(If you already have a specific refund/credit policy, I can plug it in word-for-word.)

Photo & Video Policy

We love sharing the fun! We may take photos/videos during classes/events for marketing.

If you prefer not to be photographed, please tell us at check-in, and we’ll absolutely respect it.

Food & Allergy Notice

Some events may include snacks or beverages. We can’t guarantee an allergen-free environment. Participants are responsible for disclosing allergies and managing dietary restrictions.

Code of Conduct

Bee’s Knees Art Studio is a welcoming, creative space. We expect:

  • Respect for staff, instructors, and other guests
  • No harassment or disruptive behavior
  • Responsible participation during adult or themed events
  • Clean-up cooperation (everyone is on the team!)

We reserve the right to remove participants for disruptive or unsafe behavior without refund.

Questions?

Call, message, or stop by the studio and we’ll help you pick the right class, prep for your project, and make sure you feel comfortable before you jump in.
